Trying on silly things

Observed Tristan in fetal position while Jude was punching him in the living room. Sent Jude to bed immediately (they were all overly tired anyway). As I was covering a crying Tristan he said "he just broke my heart, he totally broke my heart completely."

All these things the desert gave (or did for) Israel, Jesus does for us.

I wish I was a grown up

tristan was just sent to an early bedtime for coloring on our bedspread and dresser with markers. I am "guarding" the door, and hear him say, "I wish I was a grown up, I wish I was a grown up."
Ok now I think he just said I wish I was an octopus. Ha ha.

Jude singing

Jude and I spent the day at Vo's to celebrate Terra and i's birthday. Jude was very interested and loving toward baby Calvin today! Jude set up toys in front of his face to keep him happy, and repeatedly sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to baby! Jude told me " to make the baby happy , you need to "higher" your voice", and then sang to his cousin in a high pitched voice.

Next meal

Many times, when I check on Jude in the night, say, an hour after tucking in but he is still awake, he will tell me his breakfast desires! Ha! Tonight it was "mom, for breakfast I would like cereal, and a sandwich, and can you read a book during breakfast."
Child after my own heart, always dreaming of the next meal. Ha!

"Born baby"

A few weeks ago, Tristan started curling up in my lap and saying "pretend I'm a born baby." His way of trying to be a newborn baby. Probably influenced by cousin Calvin.

Need my books!

One is never enough....Tristan began screaming over only having time for one book....we just walked away to let the little tired guy settle down. ( after a 40 minute bedtime routine already) When I walked back up to check, he was quietly sitting in his door jam holding his blanket over his lap.

Mailboxes

jude age 6:

Jude, hiding in closet as I walk in to put away laundry.  "Mom, I have to do something in my closet....( showing me a pen). .... This is only for writing notes, and if I accidentally write in the wall, I'll just wipe it up with a wet wipe."

I bought three mailboxes a year ago intending to paint them for each child, and set outside their room for little notes...didn't get to it, plus they couldn't read yet! But they were discovered in the basement, set out in hallway, and now are writing notes to each other. Jude gave me a hug for a note I gave Him and said "I will give you a hug for every note you give me!"

Sock hop

While walking to the truck after sock hop, Jude kept saying how great of a day he had! Kept saying "best day ever!" And bragging that he " only had to do two paper worksheets at school!" He was so happy he only had a half day of school.

Petra and (neighbor / classmate )Chase  had a ball moving to the music. They would run across the dance floor then skid to a stop on their knees. Jude and Chase and Tristan were playing/jousting with their glow stick swords.

Cover me

Last night Jude walked in our room around 3am asking to be covered. As I covered him with blankets, he said "mom, you have good covering. You're good at covering." So sweet to compliment in the middle of the night.

Typical Thursday Night

Running off the bus back into home! Jude and Petra devoured a snack of apples and caramel dip. Sat around the dining room table talking about school activities and dumping all contents of book bags onto the table. Read a couple books (Ironman, Ariel story) to keep kids calm while snacking and getting ready for Little Dragons. Off to our happy place (Kang's Black Belt) for Jude to attend lil dragons.


After dinner they kids played so preciously in the mud room. Petra put Tristan in an old bottom of a guitar box and pretended it was a boat. He was shirtless so she began to cover him with scotch tape to "protect his skin."  They also put all kind of "friends" in the boat.

Yoda

During bedtime stories Jude stood up and put hands together and did a mountain yoga pose, "I can do this, and this" showing me another.
said "that's yoda!"

Tristan:
after getting out of bed 7 times
"there's another children that escaped. and her name is Petra."

Jude:
loves getting Ninjago books from library and asking for figures and sets
"here are the options for me getting my own ipad: 10, 8 (age)

Petra:
just got 3 stitches for busting up chin in downtown DC
making great strides in swimming- tried out Yolanda's pool.
